By the way...
I just found out that the second, third and fourth wives who are not "legally" wives. So no laws are broken. Basically, if you are on the outside looking in, it's an open marriage. Tho I do have to wonder how they file their taxes!
I don't know which I would hate more; being the first wife who's husband has decided that he wants additional wives or being one of the wives are not "legally" a wife? Then again, maybe the first was so good that he thought he could double his good fortion. And, people live with their boy/girl friends all the time.
Maybe, too, some people see it more as a business arrangement with multiple vendors.
Or, maybe you just have to be raised in that kind of a situation to appreciate the benefits. 'Cus so far, I see none.

Hey Diana,
Hope all is well, I saw your comments on my blog. Looks like you're trying to figure out a thing or two about Islam and living in Arabia.
I recommend reading this book as a primer:"Man and the Universe"

Hi Diana
There is a lot more to Islam and Muslims than just polygyny. I am a female Muslim American, and am happy to answer any questions you may have... please email me with anything, and I am not easily offended, so nothing is out of bounds.
Take care,
~ Hanieh

Thanks, Hanieh!
The polygyny is what caught my attention (as you can tell by my posts). Learning that "they" and "we" are so similar is what makes me want to continue reading and learning.
